Retail & Business Districts
The Village of Sauk Village has experienced growth in recent years, in contrast to older suburbs that had growth in the 19th or early 20th century. As such, the business districts have located along convenient, high-capacity roads such as Illinois 394. The Village has established 3 successful Tax Increment Financing District along this state highway.
TIF #2 is locate primarily southwest of the intersection of Sauk Trail Road and Illinois 394. TIF #2 hosts Pacesetter Steel and Marko Trucking.
TIF #3 is located at the northwest corner of Sauk Trail Road and Illinois 394. It is home to several large, successful employers including:
- Winpak – Winpak manufactures and distributes high-quality packaging, primarily used for the protection of perishable foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, medical and personal care.
- Behr Paint – Behr Paint is a household name, known for best-in-class available at places like the Home Depot, with its Midwest headquarters in Sauk Village
- WSI – WSI is a leader is supply chain logistics with two state-of-the-art facilities in Sauk Village
The Village’s newer TIF district is a mix of commercial businesses, including national and local restaurants, convenience stores/mini-mart, and gas station.
